Redact PDF
Black out every occurrence of a word or pattern and rasterise the affected pages so the text is really gone, not just covered. Runs in your browser; the document is never uploaded.
Open Redact PDF
Opens the tool in the One4All app on this site. Add your files, adjust the options, press Process, download the result.
How it works
- Open the tool and add your files (drag and drop or choose). They stay in this browser tab.
- Adjust the options below if you need to, then press Process.
- Preview the result and download it. Close the tab and everything is gone.
Accepts: PDF. Produces: PDF. Category: PDF.
Options
- Words or phrases to redact (one per line)
- Match case
- Treat lines as regular expressions — e.g. \d{3}-\d{2}-\d{4} for US social security numbers
- Box colour
- Resolution of redacted pages (DPI): 150, 200, 300
- Pages — Examples: 1-3, 5, 8- · odd · even · last. Leave empty for all pages.
Limits, honestly
- Pages containing matches are converted to images so the redacted text cannot be recovered. Run OCR PDF afterwards if you need those pages searchable again.
- First visit downloads the processing engine (about 19 MB, cached afterwards); after that no request carries your files.
- One job runs at a time, and very large files can exhaust the browser tab's memory.
- Needs a current browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari) opened directly at asolution.app.
Questions
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. Redact PDF runs inside the page (WebAssembly). Your file is read into the browser tab's memory and the result is written back to your device. You can check the Network tab of your browser while it runs: no request carries your file.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
Free, with no ads and no watermark. You do not need an account to use any tool. There is also a free membership: join before 13 December 2026 and the tools stay free for you afterwards, for as long as the site runs. The tools themselves are identical either way.
Does it work offline?
Partly. Once the engine is cached your browser does the work without sending anything, but the page itself still has to be opened from asolution.app, so you need a connection to load it.
What about password-protected PDFs?
Tools that read a protected PDF accept the password in Advanced options; it stays in your browser and is never stored or sent.
