Image to text (OCR)

Read the text in a photo, screenshot or scan with Tesseract running inside your browser. The image is not uploaded; the OCR language file (1–3 MB) is downloaded once and cached.

Questions

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. Image to text (OCR) runs inside the page (WebAssembly). Your file is read into the browser tab's memory and the result is written back to your device. You can check the Network tab of your browser while it runs: no request carries your file.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

Free, with no ads and no watermark. You do not need an account to use any tool. There is also a free membership: join before 13 December 2026 and the tools stay free for you afterwards, for as long as the site runs. The tools themselves are identical either way.

Does it work offline?

Partly. Once the engine is cached your browser does the work without sending anything, but the page itself still has to be opened from asolution.app, so you need a connection to load it.
